Law no. 93/2021, of 20 December, established the general regime for the protection of whistleblowers, transposing into the national legal order, Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons reporting breaches of Union law, ensuring that those who in good faith suspect the practice of illegal conduct within the organisation can, through a whistleblowing line, report the facts in question, safely and without suffering retaliation.
